About Costa D’oro
The Umbrian hills, in particular the area near the Appennines, have been covered with olive plantations for centuries. Extra Virgin Olive oil was born in these groves thanks to the work of the Umbrian cultivation. It began with the Romans and Etruscans and was passed down through the generations.
These hills are spotted with ancient walled cities that date back to the middle Ages, including Assisi, Spello, Trevi and, of course, Spoleto. It was in this splendid city, the site of the Festival dei due Mondi, that the Sabatini and Santirosi families decided to share their experience in producing an extra virgin olive oil of superior quality by founding the Costa d'Oro company in 1968.
