From the gracious and fertile hills of Piedmont, sloping towards Alba and the river Tanaro, emerges a true buried treasure: the truffle. A rare delicacy, the black summer truffle (Tuber Aestivum) in its sheer elegance is here joined by another Italian culinary phenomenon: Parmigiano Reggiano. The original characteristics and production methods of this traditional cheese are safeguarded by a Protected Designation of Origin. This creamy, versatile sauce of creamy Parmigiano Reggiano cheese with the distinctive earthiness of the truffle, accompanied by a little milk and butter, is ideal to dress up any risotto, pasta, crepes or asparagus, or as an antipasto spread on toast or crackers.
TartufLanghe’s center for the production of culinary delicacies showcasing the glorious truffle is in Piobesi, a small village in the Roero, just outside of Alba. In 1980 TartufLanghe began to truly bring forth the prestigious culinary experience of its founder, developing original truffle specialties, including the world’s first truffle pasta, which was awarded the 1992 best new product of the year at New York’s Fancy Food Summer Show.
