They also eagerly lend a hand in creating amaretto tiramisu or amaretto ice cream. Called the world’s most famous Italian cookie, they are said to still follow the original recipe created by David Lazzaroni in 1718, a recipe carefully guarded to this day by the Lazzaroni family of Saronno, Italy.
